3/21- DFW Mid-Cities Chapter - March Meeting
Join us Thursday March 21st at the George Hawkes Downtown Public Library, Arlington's new state of the art library! We will be meeting in the Excellence meeting room on 3rd floor of the library. Bruce Payne from the City of Arlington will be present our chapter with an update on ongoing projects within the City of Arlington.
Bruce Payne has worked in local government for 30 years and has served as the City of Arlington's Economic Development Director since December, 2009. Prior to his current role in Arlington, Bruce has served as the assistant director of the Community Development & Planning department managing the development services division where he helped create the city's One Start Center; and also as assistant director of Community Services over HUD grants management and code enforcement.
Bruce has previously served as planning director for the City of Southlake, Texas, and as planning director in multiple jurisdictions in eastern North Carolina. Bruce holds a B.S. degree in Urban & Regional Planning and a M.A. degree in Geography from East Carolina University. He is an IEDC Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), is a member of the Tarrant County Workforce Development Board, Chair of the Workforce Development Committee, and is a member of Martin United Methodist Church in Bedford. Bruce is married to Lori Payne and has two sons, Dylan, age 22 and Trevor, age 16.
